When does theft become a felony in the state of Ohio?

Asset Protection

I work as Asset Protection and I was wondering how much a person has to steal for it to become a felony in the state of Ohio.
The thing was we caught someone with over 20 items. It all came to over 200 dollars. Would that make it a felony or is it still a misdemeanor?

To become a felony theft in Ohio the property has to be valued at least $500.00.

There are other items that are a felony regardless of their value. Some of those items are: a negotiable instrument (a check), a credit card, a medical prescription, theft of dangerous drugs, theft from an elderly person (65 YOA or older), a firearm, a motor vehicle.
