It has been my experience that a “bright” person, given the right opportunity, will find a way to better his standing in society. Although the wealthy have little trouble in maintaining their wealth, the age old proverb “A fool and his money are soon departed” rings ever true. I have watched both happen time and time again.

It is my conclusion that it is the duty of government to ensure opportunity for all.

We already tried that under Bush. Huge tax cuts for the rich, paid for by the middle class. You see where that has landed us, don’t you?

The remarkable thing is that after 8 years of that–it is still the only only answer the republicans can come up with (even though the results show it does not work).

Doesn’t work though does it? Tax and spend socialism was tried all over Europe and exported to Africa after the second world war. It proved a disaster everywhere. I think you will find most people don’t save up for years to get their capital. They borrow most of it from the banks, or their backers. Capitalism isnt an “ism”, like socialism or communism, it is just the way things are, and have been since creation. Your acceptance of the marxist analysis of society would have sounded outmoded in Gorbachev’s Soviet Union.

We don’t need to redistribute wealth. We need the productive employees to share more in the wealth that they help create. Workers – employees used to get rewarded for a job well done and for contributing to the bottom line. What happened to that system????

It’s not about redistribution. It’s about workers sharing in the wealth they create with bonuses.

It can’t. Redistribution of wealth destroys capitalism ending in socialism.

5 out of 10 small businesses fail within 5 years. Only 1 in 10 small businesses last more than 10 years. The ‘land of opportunity’ is a myth. If you do succeed in spite of all the corporate interest against you, chances are you will be bought out anyway.

By keeping secret banks more secret! So that tin pot dictators and corrupt governments of Asia, Africa, USA, Europe and drug dealers as well other types of criminals would be able to swindle their ill gotten wealth to anywhere at anytime they want.

This in a way poorer countries will remain poorer and richer countries will be richer contrary to democracy, free speech, justice and humanity.

This is called irrational economic rationalism.

Just eradicate money and have government provide shelter, food and some sort of job to keep us occupied.
