You can call the stores and ask to speak with their manager for an “informational interview”. Just let them know you’d appreciate a few minutes of their time to learn more about the job and what the requirements are they’d be seeking. If it’s a job you really want, it’s well worth taking the time and effort to do that, because then they’ll remember you when you have the experience they need.

I wonder if being a security guard for a few months first would be helpful, but ask them that when you talk with them.
