Successful wealth creating depends on a balance between mindset and financial strategy. Understanding and accepting this determines the success of an individual’s efforts at wealth creation; to determine whether you have the right mindset to succeed and create wealth, take this simple test, devised by Jamie McIntyre of the 21st Century Academy:

- Suppose you were given a choice between being given $1 million dollars, and being given a wealth creation education. Which would you choose?

It seems fairly obvious that the majority of people would instantly choose the $1 million in cold, hard cash. And that majority would also think that all their financial problems were solved. Really, you could do a lot with a cool, easy million.

Would A Million Dollars Really Solve Your Financial Problems?

Honestly, you could do a lot with a million dollars. If you knew what to do with it to make that million last a lifetime. But really, how long does a million dollars last these days? How many years would it take you to spend a million dollars, assuming no investments and no change to your current lifestyle, if you were given a million dollars cash free and clear? How much of that million would go right to paying off your debt? How much would you be left with?

Even if you took that million dollars and did nothing but pay the bills you have, you’d be out of money in a matter of years; long before the end of your life. Chances are you’d even find yourself worse off in the end than you are today.

Sound unrealistic? Consider this

- A study of Australian lottery winners showed that of those who win a million dollars, most are worse off in a period of three to seven years.

Why? Because they have nothing but a lifetime of financial reaction to guide them. They have no money skills, and no mindset to guide their efforts at spending and investing, no commitment to financial success!

Now, given a wealth creation education, people are far more likely to succeed. Had that million dollars been paired with the knowledge and mindset to succeed financially, that money could have been invested and turned into more money, money virtually out of thin air!

The point of this exercise is to show that the solution to financial struggle is not money in and of itself. The solution to financial struggle is an effective financial education, a wealth creation education.

What Is A Wealth Creation Education

A wealth creation education consists of two parts.

1. Lessons in developing the mindset for financial success

2. Lessons in financial strategy, how to make money work to make more money

Together, these two parts make up 100% of the whole necessary to achieve financial freedom for life.

To go back to the original exercise, let’s suppose that this education were chosen over the million dollars. What then?

In that instance (assuming a true commitment to wealth creation), the outcome is far different. Even starting with seemingly nothing, the individual learns to create wealth by utilizing the various money systems and financial strategies of the world. In three to seven years, the wealth creation student is retired (or working only because he or she wants to). In three to seven years, when the lottery winner is struggling more than ever financially, the wealth creation student is letting his/her money work for him, rather than the forcing himself to work for more and more money.

The Wealth Creation Prize

Faced with these realities, it becomes obvious that the real wealth creation prize is the wealth creation education. With a wealth creation education, the possibilities are limitless, and wealth continues to build.

Money comes and goes, as the wealth creation student understands; where one income stream ends, another can surely begin; and while a million dollars can only get you so far, a million and a wealth creation education can take you on for life.

My organization is trying to host a Halloween Party at a Local Bar. We are gaurenteed to have at least 30 members if not more to come already. Other than making a percent off of the door or the sales at the bar, what are some other ideas for my organization to make some money off of the deal? Also, what is a good or decent percent to get off of the cover and /or bar? All input is appreciated. Thanks

I know for me, the year was 1980, Reagan was going against Carter, and the press was saying that if Reagan won, it would be the end of the world as we know it: nuclear proliferation with Russia was a certainty. When the opposite happened, along with job creation, wealth, good times, etc., I was done listening to the press and my family of Union workers.

The “creation” of government jobs doesn’t create wealth it destroys wealth by taking from the private sector.

Or are these jobs paid for with the same money as “free healthcare?”
Herb then it follows that you should take any and all measures to stimulate the PRIVATE economy shouldn’t you?

- CUT the corporate tax rates to SLIGHTLY under what the rest of the world has.
- CUT payroll taxes.
- CUT capital gains.

Millions of Jobs would be created in weeks by the TRUE creator, the PRIVATE sector.

Why is that so hard to understand?
sassy one, true, the “middle class” has moved UP. This is fact.
listless, LOL thanks. A an absolute PERFECT specimen you are for the BDS museum.

, the government is having a terrible time recruiting employees. Only 16% of college-educated workers say that they are interested in a government job. Among those without a college degree, there is twice the level of interest. Among people currently employed, those with managerial or professional occupations show a low interest level of 17%.
Among those who want work to be challenging and enjoyable, only 9% thought a government job qualified. And, interestingly, among those who say they want to make a contribution to society, 90% said that non-government work in the private sector, whether for profit or non-profit, is the way to go.
Now, what this means is that the smart set avoids government. Government work might still be attractive to people with fewer economic opportunities, but they are entering it for reasons that are not ideological. And for that reason too, they are less loyal to the public sector and glad to bail out if something else comes available.
Most people view this as a very bad trend. I would only say that it is a significant trend, especially considering that in the heyday of government central planning, government sought to attract the best and the brightest. Often it did. Now, one might argue that if government were doing what it should be doing, this would be a good thing. But if government is doing many bad things, it is certainly not a bad trend for it to experience a brain drain.
It is always a tragedy to see smart and entrepreneurial men and women be attracted away from productive employment in the private sector toward a position of power in the public sector. It makes us poorer to have the talents drained away from wealth creation toward wealth destruction. As for the very few good people in politics — Ron Paul is the great exception that proves the rule — they are true public servants only insofar as they work to diminish government power rather than increase it.
So long as government is large and overweening, we are better off with a public sector that cannot attract the best and brightest. They should stay put where they can continue to expand the range of goods and services offered within the market framework. It is the market that provides us the means necessary to improve our standard of living, and the tools we need to maintain some degree of independence from the state.
We often rail against incompetence in government. But before we go too far with this language, we need to consider that competence in government may be a far worse fate. We don’t need genuinely competent antitrust enforcers, drug and food regulators, tax collectors, money manipulators, labor-law interventionists, gun grabbers, and environmental police. As H.L. Mencken said, we should be thankful that we don’t get all the government we pay for.
To be sure, we are paying far more today for government than ever before. Consider the real annual growth rate of total government outlays by presidents. Under Nixon, it was 3%. Under Carter, it was 4.1%. Under Reagan, 2.6%. Under Bush’s dad, 1.9%, a figuring owing to the cuts in military spending. Domestic spending soared. Under Clinton, whom we all denounced as a socialist, it was 1.5%, the lowest rate in the postwar period. And under the present Bush, who promised less government? The real annual growth rate of total government outlays has been 5%, which compares to Johnson-era spending.
The old rationales for government growth may have been discredited in the public mind. But they are alive in Washington, among the special interest groups, and among the media.

The definition of socialism is as follows: a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole. (in Marxist theory) the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles.

Socialism, according to Karl Marx, is the transition between capitalism and communism. To achieve communism, Marx says, there must be continuing revolution in which the fundamental principal is: The end justifies the means.

For more than half a century, capitalism in the United States has taken a beating from the socialist revolution. Despite the best efforts of conservatives since the Roosevelt era, socialists have made great strides toward converting the nation to socialism. Apparently, the majority of Americans either fail to recognize the transition, or welcome it. The enthusiastic support for Barack Obama, especially among young people, is abundant evidence.

Obama has declared that he believes every person has a “right” to health care. The Socialist Party USA believes every person has a “right” to health care.

Obama believes that labor unions should be allowed to organize without a secret ballot. The Socialist Party USA calls for unions to be recognized without a secret ballot.

The Socialist Party USA recognizes the “right” of adequate housing for everyone. Obama trained ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) workers to secure mortgages for unqualified people in sufficient numbers to collapse the housing and home-financing industries.

The Socialist Party USA believes that “capitalism is fundamentally incompatible” with socialism. For years, Obama worked in Chicago through the Annenberg Challenge, along with Bill Ayers, to funnel more than $50 million to anti-capitalist education projects. In November 2006, Ayers traveled to Venezuela to speak at Hugo Chavez’s Education Forum where he railed against “the failings of capitalist education,” and praised the “Bolivarian Revolution and the profound reforms in education made by Hugo Chavez.”

The Socialist Party USA believes in open borders and six-months residency as the only requirement for U.S. citizenship. Obama marched with illegal aliens in Chicago in support of “comprehensive” immigration reform. Listen to Obama’s promises to La Raza in 2007.

The Socialist Party USA calls for an immediate withdrawal from Iraq. Obama says, “I will end this war,” with never a reference to “winning” or “victory.”

The Socialist Party USA calls for the “unconditional disarmament” by the United States. Obama has promised to dramatically reduce defense spending. Listen to his words here.

The Socialist Party USA calls for a “livable guaranteed annual income.” Obama trained ACORN members to conduct “Living Wage” campaigns in cities around the country.

The Socialist Party USA calls for a “steeply graduated” tax policy to redistribute wealth. Obama has promised to increase the tax burden on the rich to redistribute wealth to the poor. He revealed his philosophy when answering a question from Joe the plumber, who complained that he was being taxed for his success. Obama said:

It’s not that I want to punish your success. I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they’ve got a chance for success too. My attitude is that if the economy’s good for folks from the bottom up, it’s gonna be good for everybody. I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.
This list of comparisons could be quite long. This is sufficient to reveal an unmistakable similarity between Obama’s political beliefs and the beliefs of the Socialist Party USA. The tragedy is that Obama’s supporters don’t care. In fact, many of his supporters are delighted that he promises to usher in a new era of socialism, and push the memory of capitalism further into history.

Socialists, who are in perpetual revolution, who believe that the end justifies the means, have worked through educational institutions, non-government organizations such as ACORN and by electing socialists to public office to silence teaching the virtues of free enterprise, capitalism, private property, individual responsibility and personal achievement. For nearly two generations, students have been fed a steady diet of socialism under a variety of disguises, including Outcome Based Education, No Child Left Behind, School-to-Work and a host of other “feel good” slogans.

Students and young adults no longer know why capitalism is better than socialism. Like Obama, young people really believe that when government redistributes wealth, “it’s good for everybody.” They do not realize that wealth redistribution is no substitute for wealth creation. They are never taught that the only way to create wealth is for an individual to combine his energy and intel
